Mount the Z-stage to the Y-stage platter

Mount the Z-stage to the center of the Y-stage platter. There are four mounting holes in the center of the Y-stage platter. Find the matching set of holes on the back of the Z-stage. They will be accessed by removing the Z-stage cover.

Note: The Cable track shown on the Y-stage will not be used on this arrayer. It will be replaced with the OEM cable set. The cables will hang freely above the arrayer, and be wrapped along with those from the Z-stage to a support from the ceiling.

To get inside the Z-stage the cover can be removed by removing a plate at one end, and removing the tiny hex nuts that hold the metal strap covers at the end of the stage. The cover slides off as in the picture. The hex nuts are very very tiny. Place them in a safe place so they don't get lost by falling into the table!
The cover slides off to reveal the corkscrew and mounting holes. Slide the cover all the way off, and locate the holes that line up with those on the Y-stage. You can move the Z-stage platter by simply pushing on it. It may be stiff as the corkscrew must rotate for the platter to move.
The Z-stage comes with M6 low head screws for mounting the stage to the Y-stage platter. The screws are mounted from within the z-stage, so low profile screws are required to prevent damage to the internals of the z-stage.
While mounting the stage you may have access to only one set of holes at a time. Mount one set using the low profile screws, then move the platter to mount the other set. Try to avoid the grease on the corkscrew while tightening the screws.
When you go to slide the Z-stage cover back on, you may be surprised to find that it no longer fits due to the proximity of the Z-stage to the table! This is ok as the thin metal straps along the Z-stage are movable and can be gently lifted to allow the cover back into it's track.

Slide the cover back up, and secure it to the strip covers with screws. Replace the end plate.

Voila! The stage is mounted.
